Why I Deserve a Gamer Girl

1. I can wait.

I understand that finding a gamer girl can be a difficult task.  I don’t whine every- day saying, “It’s so unfair! Why don’t I have my gamer girl?!” With a high expecta- tion, I am willing to wait for it because it’s only fair.

2. Less tension in the relationship.

Since she plays video games with me, she will have under- standing of why they are so important to me.  With my friends' past and present girl- friends, there have been many arguments surrounding him and his video game hobby.  So I would like to avoid what they have gone through.

My girlfriend won’t argue with me by using arguments like, “They’re such a waste of time!” or “They’re stupid!”  Instead of me responding with my curt, “You’re stupid” line, I can avoid it all together since she plays video games, too.  With her realizing her own passion for running around shooting virtual people in the face, she’ll have no desire to put me down for joining in on the fun.  Besides, she would never insult her own hobby.

3. More fun-filled, free dates.

“Let’s go waste money on bowling, or going to the movies, or driving to the mall buying lots of clothes, or eating somewhere!”  A far better alternative for me and my girl to those lovely suggestions is  simple.

Stay home.  Turn on our PS3s. Press ‘X’ on SOCOM: Confrontation (my game of choice).  And enjoy a fun filled night playing until 7 o’clock in the morning of online gaming!

In case I haven’t convinced you why this is a great idea yet, then you’re obviously not the gamer girl for me =D.  Well, I guess I could explain it better.

First, we can play online together in-person or she can be at her place while I’m at mine.  C’mon, a date where both her and I don’t even have to get out of bed to hang out with each other.  How awesome is that?

Secondly, since we’re not going out (and spending money on gas), we can wear whatever we want.  As a guy, it doesn’t matter one way or the other since it takes me five seconds to throw on a T-shirt and jeans.  But I’m thinking about her.  She won’t have to spend at least  ten minutes blow drying her hair, twenty minutes on make up and thirty on figuring out what outfit will make her look the cutest and showing off her goods while  at the same time making sure her thighs  don’t look big.  She can simply slip into her white animal / dessert covered pajamas and let her hair be damned!

Thirdly, if we play together, we can be flirty and compliment each other for planting the bomb, sniping a guy, or getting MVP.  We can turn games into challenges, like “whoever gets MVP this game has to make the other a grilled cheese.”  It’s competitive, but still fun for the both of us.  (Although, if we’re playing online, the loser couldn’t make the other a grilled cheese until the next day).

4. We’ll spend more time together.

With her being a gamer girl, and me being a gamer guy, we get to be together a lot more.  Let me explain.

Video games are an important part of my life.  Not obsessive; just important.  If I played video games and she didn’t, then occasionally when she wanted to hang out, I would say I’m playing SOCOM and she would get irritated because she didn’t play.  Sure, she could come over and hang out while I play, but she would get bored fast and start complaining and then eventually we’d get into an argument ending with her being mad at me.  I don’t know about you, but I would rather steer clear of all that frustration right from the beginning.

I do have a solution to avoid all that: she plays with me!  Since I will inevitably spend time away from her with my other love, she might as well love my love to cherish our love.  Since she’ll love  (I swear, that’s the last “love” I’ll use... except for that one) video games as much as I do, we can play together.  That way, we can have more time for each other because her hobby shares in my own.

5. I do a lot of girl stuff, so she should be able to do guy stuff

Being raised with three sisters forced me to not just tolerate, but love activities girls love.  Shopping, The Bachelor, listening to her talk about her day; I love all of it!  (and apparently love using the word love).

My belief is, if I’m into a lot of girl stuff, then it’s only fair that I ask she be into guy stuff, such as video games.  In the afternoon we’ll go shopping, I’ll help her pick out a cute outfit to wear at work to show up some stuck up bitch she can’t stand, and then we will come home and kick it playing SOCOM for three hours.

6. She calls late at night wanting to talk and I’m playing video games

My two best friends have had countless issues with being up late at night playing video games and their girlfriend calls to talk.  It usually has my friend mindlessly agreeing, “Yeah” “Uh, huh” and then a final goodnight after an hour of not knowing what the hell she talked about.  Occasionally, the girlfriend gets mad that he’s not paying attention, and he’s just trying to play video games so she interrupting his down time (which guys hate).

My solution: ask her to play and talk with me.  If she plays SOCOM too, then instead of awkwardly holding the phone between my shoulder and ear, we can hang out on the same team and she can tell me about her day over the headset in-game.

I will be more attentive because she’s my teammate so for stuff I don’t care so much about, I’ll listen more carefully inherently in case she’ll say something important for the team’s victory.  Communication is key in the game at calling out where the enemy is and requesting back up, so to ensure I do not miss what she’s saying, I’ll listen to when she’s talking about the game and talking about her day equally.
